How are you involved in agriculture?
Owning horses and raising show cattle is a fundamental part of Caroline’s growing up. Her true passion is training and riding her horses. “I started riding when I was very young,” she said. “Altogether, we have 10 horses, everything from Paints to Paso Finos. The Paso Fino has Spanish heritage, with a natural gait and presence and responsive attitude. They make excellent equine partners. I was 11-years-old when I first started with my Red Angus show heifers, and I still show Red Angus.”

How do you benefit from being involved in agriculture?
“The responsibilities I have in caring for my animals give me a different outlook on life, making me more aware of what I want to do and accomplish,” explained Caroline.

Who is your role model?
“Mom and Dad, they help me and give me courage to do my best. They’ve been very supportive in helping me become more involved in rodeos and barrel racing. In 2009, I was Searcy County Rodeo Queen.”

What are your goals for the future?
“After I graduate, I’d like to attend the University of Arkansas, because of the agricultural courses they offer. I’m thinking of becoming a veterinarian or working in a business that will keep me involved in agriculture of some kind. Possibly, even continuing to raise cattle and build my own herd.”
