COLUMBIA, Mo. – The early-registration deadline to attend an Oct. 18 workshop for artist entrepreneurs has been extended to Sept. 13.

Sponsored by University of Missouri Extension, “What Works!” is a workshop for the artist entrepreneur and the community that supports artists and the arts.

MU Extension community arts specialist Lee Ann Woolery said that artists who are interested in developing their entrepreneurial skills and community leaders interested in grass-roots community arts will learn how to create vibrant communities that support a thriving economy. Community leaders will learn how to incorporate the arts into community projects by forging partnerships and building relationships.

Woolery will be among the speakers for the event on the MU campus. Other speakers will include Diane Scott of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Innovation Center and representatives of the group Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts.

Cost is $25 for registrations received by the Sept. 13 early deadline and $40 thereafter. Final registration deadline is Sept. 27.
