COLUMBIA, Mo.– Actors, filmmakers, stagehands and film lovers will gather in St. Louis for the fifth national FilmFest 4-H, June 14-17. The event brings youth together with industry professionals who donate their time and expertise.

“FilmFest presenters are all involved in different parts of the film industry,” said Bradd Anderson, University of Missouri Extension 4-H youth specialist. “It’s a chance to meet the professionals, get their insights and learn how to do amazing things on a teenager’s budget.”

Guests will include Los Angeles-based actress Erica Ibsen of “Dexter” and the upcoming “Joe Dirt 2,” actor Bill Chott of Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Patrick Voss of VFX Creative Studios, and others. Workshop topics include prop creation, life as a working actor in Hollywood, improvisation techniques, finding success as a producer and more.

Teens who make their own films may submit them for screening at FilmFest by May 15. Youth ages 11-18 can register to attend FilmFest 4-H until June 1. FilmFest 4-H is sponsored by MU Extension’s 4-H Center for Youth Development in partnership with the Missouri Film Office.
