MARSHALL Mo. – University of Missouri Extension will offer a free workshop this summer targeted to teachers of high school personal finance classes. Volunteers of nonprofit organizations who work with teens also are welcome.

The National Endowment for Financial Education provides a free personal finance curriculum. The workshop will help teachers learn about the resource and how to use it.

Participants will also learn ways to make financial education fun and engaging, said MU Extension family financial education specialist Trish Savage.  “It is a great opportunity to network with teachers from other schools in Saline and the surrounding counties of Chariton, Carroll, Lafayette and Ray, so save the date,” Savage said.

The free one-day workshop is 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at a location to be determined later. Lunch is provided and continuing education units (CEUs) may be available, she said.

Those interested in attending should contact Savage by March 15 at [email protected] or 660-886-6908.
