INGREDIENTS:

1 3/4 C boiling water

1 C uncooked oatmeal

1 C brown sugar

1 C white sugar

1 3/4 unsifted flour

3/4 C chopped nuts

1 stick oleo

2 large eggs

1 tsp soda

1 package chocolate chips (12 ounces)

T Tbsp cocoa

DIRECTIONS:

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand for 10 minutes. Add brown sugar, white sugar and oleo. Stir until oleo is melted, add eggs and mix well. Sift flour, soda, salt and cocoa, slowly adding it to the oatmeal mixture. Add about half of the chocolate chips. Pour batter into a greased 9-by-13 pan. Sprinkle nuts and remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
