INGREDIENTS:

1 C butter

2 C sugar

4 egg yolks

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp allspice

1 tsp cinnamon

3 C flour

3 tsp baking powder

1 C milk

1 C nut meats (black walnuts)

4 egg whites

DIRECTIONS:

Mix butter, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, nutmeats, allspice, cinnamon, flour, baking powder, milk and nut meats. Fold in egg whites that have been beaten well. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

ICING

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 C butter

1 C firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 C milk

2 C sifted powdered sugar

DIRECTIONS:

Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and cook over low heat 2 minutes. Stir constantly. Add milk; bring to boil. Remove from heat and cool. Add about 2 cups sifted powdered sugar gradually, beating well.
