How are you involved in agriculture?
“I milk Jerseys, and show them at county, state and national levels.” Caleb is very involved in the dairy herd on the farm. “I AI the herd. I keep the breeding records, shot records, calving dates and I keep up the registration papers. We’re getting more into the registered livestock. Last year I bought a Milking Shorthorn.”

What interests you about dairy?
“My grandpa, Walter Doty, milked Jerseys. My mom grew up milking and showing Jerseys. So it’s a family thing. To me, it’s not about money. I work on another dairy. It really interests me to go to shows, and I like proving what I can do with the genetics.”

Future plans?
“My plans are to build a high quality herd of Registered Jerseys and a few Shorthorns to market. I want to have a herd that is recognized nationwide. I would also like to help get and keep more youth involved in agriculture and showing.”
